Templeton Family Portraits

Mrs. Templeton called me to talk about a family portrait session they had wanted to do for many years but never got around to doing. Well, this was a bit of a rush job because she was about to lose her hair. You see, her radiation treatment was scheduled for the following week, an attempt to combat the cancer. She was going to lose her hair so she wanted to get the family together one last time until she grew it back again. It was an amazing shoot with an amazing family. I can't wait to shoot them again when Lynell is bald and beautiful. I have no doubt she'll win her battle and we'll once again capture her family and her amazing head of hair!

Stacy & Will's Wedding

This was easily my most dificult wedding this season! My #1 assistant was out tending to personal family matters so I had to bring in someone I've never worked with. Jeff did an amazing job and I won't hesitate to use him again in the future! The images speak for themselves.... Of course, I can't forget to mention Stacy and Will. As her family will attest, Stacy should have been an General in the armed services! She's organized to a fault and a thourough as anyone could be. She made my job both difficult and extremely easy at the same time...! She knew what she wanted and let me know so we were absolutely on the same page every step of the way. Talk about a great partnership. I have no doubt she and Will will spend MANY glorious years together, enjoying each other for who they really are.... good people.

Katie & Matt's wedding - Broom's Island Maryland

I always struggle with what to say in a blog. I'm not a writer, I'm a photographer. I love to let my images stand on their own merits; I think these images do just that. Matt and Katie are an amazing couple, full of fun and life. We had glorious weather (albeit hot for a September 30th wedding) for a beach-side wedding ceremony. I hope and pray their lives together are filled with nothing but glorious times.

Elizabeth Robinson is turned 1 year old with great fanfare and joy. Her birthday part was nothing compared to the photo shoot the following day. We never get tired of shooting babies when they attack their very first cake, making a mess of themselves and the studio. All for a good cause though, you never get another chance to capture the pure beauty and joy of a child on their first birthday.

I'm so bad about posting to my blog on a regular basis, it's a miracle I have any followers at all....! Well, this one was worth the wait. Basil and Ashely are a stunning couple, not in the physical sense, but just outstanding people. It was about 100 degrees when we shot their engagement session yet they were just as cool as could be. I've been witness to a lot of happy couples in my days as a photographer, these two are two of the happiest I've ever worked with.

Talk about a fun couple. Ryan and Violet personified fun. In fact, the first 20 minutes of our engagement shoot is practically unuseable because it was just goofing off and loosening up. That led to some amazing images once they relaxed and just flowed with the shoot. I am so excited for the wedding in June, it promises to be a wonderful event!

This was a great event. Very small and intimate but a lively group of people. I know I say this about all of my weddings but this was one of the best. We didn't have a lot of time for photographs and because of the weather, not a lot of choices either but at the end of the day, it proved to be an amazing event. The friends and family couldn't have been easier to work with nor more friendly. Our chance meeting proved a godsend!

We had the opportunity to enjoy our time off at Harpers Ferry, WV where we did serious hiking (baby stroller in tow). The scenery, albeit sparse from a greenery perspecive, was stunning.

From Italy, New Mexico, and Annapolis, there was nothing that was going to keep this family from documenting their first visit together in 9 years. World Wildlife Fund party

Talk about a fun group of people....! I was blessed to photograph the World Wildlife Fund (the real WWF) Year of the Tiger Chinese New Year Celebration Thursday night. The party kicked off Chineese New Year in style.... The cornerstone of the evening was an official Memorandum of Understanding Agreement between WWF-US and WWF China to work together toward the preservation of our wildlife. Good luck to all.

The dragon dance pictured here was opened the floor to a wonderful night of fellowship and dancing. I hope to shoot more events for them in the future!

What a whirlwind of a wedding last Saturday. Camille and Chuck got married in a BEAUTIFUL church in Chuck's hometown in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Not quite the same as destination weddings I've performed in the past but having the opportunity to get to know these two, I would have traveled across the country to photograph their wedding! Every now and then, a couple comes to you asking for a miracle.... As my mother-in-law would say, if you gave them the world, they would want a white picket fence around it. Kalia and David are as far from that as anyone could imagine! Talk about kind, caring, and fun!!! We shot a 2-hour shoot in my home but it seemed like 20 minutes. This amazing couple has been together for 8 years and just now decided to get married. I have no doubt this is one love that will last! Their wedding is going to be a simple affaire with only 300 close friends and family! I say "only" because knowing the couple for just a short time, they're only limited by the size of the hall they reserved, certainly not for the lack of more friends! An artist lost

A sad day for the photography industry in general, Baltimore wedding photography specifically. A true artist and inspirational leader in the Baltimore community was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident on September 5th. Unfortunately, Arthur Remanjon's zest for life could only be lived, no one can explain it. Ask any one of his thousands of friends and acquaintances and you'll get wildly different explanations of who this man was. To me, the one word was "mentor". I learned more in the time I worked with Arthur than I did in years of collaborating with other photographers. Goodbye Arthur, you will be missed!

A life changing moment!

Talk about something that will change your life forever (for most of you, please forgive my raves and indulgences, you already know what I mean).... Today, Monday August 17, 2009 at 1042, I became a father for the first time. Elizabeth Ann graced our lives at 6 pounds, 13 ounces, and taped 20'. Amy was simply amazing with her poise and grace in the face of 4 epidural attempts, a troubled delivery where the umbilical cord was choking our girl, and everything else that goes with a 12 hour labor process. She ROCKS! As for Eliza, she's not going to be big enough to play a forward postion, she'll make a fine hockey goalie if she works on her lateral manuvering. She can take pointers from our friend's daughter!
